TRUST: Trust must be earned--not just learned.

Police officer's are "expert observers of the human
condition."
Trust isn't something you get with your Diploma, you have to
earn it. Yet, everyday, officer's must go against their
better judgment--are forced to place their lives and the lives
of their families in the hands of Experts who ASSUME they know
what is good for you.

EDUCATION: If you haven't worn the badge-you don't know.

The more police officer's know about work stress and Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder, the better their chances for
survival.
Two to three times as many officer's commit suicide as are
killed in the line of duty--police officer's need to know how
to recognize and deal, effectively, with stress and trauma
issues

HEALTH: Being an 'expert' isn't good enough.

When it is your health on the line, there is no time to train
your counselor/therapists or doctor on what it's like to be a
cop. A 'best guess,' may be a wrong guess.
The cop who dies because a well intentioned professional made
a mistake is just a dead as thought he, or she, were shot by a
fleeing felon. Good intentions, simply aren't good enough.

It is my job to:

  • Get the best and most current stress and trauma information
    available.
  • Make sure every officer, who asks for it, gets that
    information in a timely fashion.

    -AND-

  • Honor the trust placed in me by the officer's and families
    who ask for my assistance.
